Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, the Organisation was founded in the year 1877 by Helen de Chappotin in Otacamund, Tamil Nadu in India. This is a group of women, of all races and social classes of 76 different nationalities working for the empowerment and liberation of the poor. Today the Organisation has 115 branches in India who dedicate their services especially to the poorest of the poor section of the society living in the remote villages of India. In Karnataka we work in 5 districts – Bangalore, Chamarajanagar, Gulbarga, Tumkur, Udupi and Chitradurga. |

Organising the poor, illiterate, exploited rural women, children, disabled, landless, small and marginal farmers through the formation and nurturing of CBOs and helping them in their integrated and sustainable development by empowering them and their families socially, economically, politically and educationally with a participatory approach, promotion and protection of environment and ecology of whole of Hosadurga and Holalkere taluks. |
