| Children’s Clubs |
Children’s Clubs in Hosadurga taluk were started by Franciscan Sisters of Mary Hosadurga, NISARGA in the year 1999. These are started as non-formal groups and they are still functioning the same. Gradually they have spread to 11 villages and have 12 clubs totally. The clubs were started to bring together backward and School dropout children and facilitate them for better education and dignity in the society. |

Structure and Functioning |
The children clubs function under one animator who is called as ‘teacher’ who facilitates the running of the children club in every village. The club meetings are held on weekends on a fixed time which is decided by the local club. The animators have a Person-in-Charge who visits children clubs meetings every week. |
Usually in the villages of Hosadurga the children are found with less education and less motivation. The animator will conduct education classes to supplement the educational needs of the children. Apart from classes they have games, storytelling, personality development and value based sessions which are aimed at the integral development of each child. Our intention is to unearth the hidden potentials in each child. |

The children make their small financial savings when they meet each time in the clubs. But the savings is not compulsory for them. The animators come for a meeting in NISARGA every month where a general meeting is held and personality development sessions for the animators are conducted. The animators collect the savings of children and submit to NISARGA on this day which is deposited in the bank later. The money which is collected will be given back to the children at the beginning of the academic year to enable them to buy materials for their school needs. |

The children get free clothes, books and any other available accessories every year by NISARGA and few donors through NISARGA. During summer holidays the children come to NISARGA, Hosadurga for a Summer Camp which is organised by Franciscan Sisters of Mary Hosadurga, NISARGA to aid the personality development of children. The Summer Camps involve personality development sessions, games and other activities. Resource persons are called from outside to help in this event. |
