Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, the Organisation was founded in the year 1877 by Helen de Chappotin in Otacamund, Tamil Nadu in India. This is a group of women, of all races and social classes of 76 different nationalities working for the empowerment and liberation of the poor. Today the Organisation has 115 branches in India who dedicate their services especially to the poorest of the poor section of the society living in the remote villages of India. In Karnataka we work in 5 districts – Bangalore, Chamarajanagar, Gulbarga, Tumkur, Udupi and Chitradurga. . |

| The NGO, FRANCISCAN SISTERS OF MARY HOSADURGA, NISARGA is a branch of the religious congregation “Franciscan Missionaries of Mary” that has one of its houses in Hosadurga, Chitradurga District, Karnataka State established in the year 1998. Srs. Mary, Stella, Theresa and Levenis started the organisation on 14 of June in the year 1998. | ||
| Sr. Levenis D’souza (1998 - ) is the director since the foundation of the organisation. She has been honoured in the year 2006 by K. Amaranarayana, the District Commissioner of Chitradurga for her achievements in Social Service. |  |
